Project: Cycle Re-cycling
This project works with a small group (max 6 people), teaching them cycle maintenance. The course is run over 5 consecutive days (for English speaking participants) or over 4 weeks (for non-English speaking participants). Individuals work on second hand bicycles throughout the course enabling them to learn hands on mechanical techniques in cycle maintenance. At the end of the course, every participant takes away the bicycle they have been working on plus a brand new helmet and a D-lock. So far the project has run 4 courses benefiting 24 individuals.
Cycle Re-cycling project is one of the four partnership projects supported by Middlesbrough Environment City (MEC) as part of the Emerging Communities Projects.
Successful participants will receive an accredited level one OCN qualification in Bike Maintenance
